Just how far does our financial aid system go in helping students from low-income backgrounds afford college? Since 2018, the National College Attainment Network has contributed to the discussion of college affordability by researching how the average Pell Grant recipient is faring at public institutions of higher education. In NCAN’s latest refresh of “The Growing Gap: Public Higher Education’s Declining Affordability for Pell Grant Recipients”, the findings are clear: the downward trend in affordability is continuing. Pell recipients are seeing a dwindling number of affordable public postsecondary options, and affordability gaps are getting larger. Please join us for a webinar that will offer an overview of NCAN’s research findings, interactive dashboard, and state affordability profiles – and to discuss practical takeaways for the NCAN community to use these resources to amplify their own work.
