Mia Hines

Senior Manager, Programs and Engagement

Mia Hines is the Senior Manager, Programs and Engagement, at the National College Attainment Network (NCAN), where she works to strengthen programs and partnerships that advance college access and attainment for historically underserved students. In this role, she supports member engagement, program development, and collaborative initiatives that help organizations across the country increase postsecondary success.

With more than 20 years of experience in K–12 schools and higher education, Hines has dedicated her career to expanding access to educational opportunity and supporting student success. Her work has included acting as an Associate Director of Programs for a college access program for first generation and historically underrepresented students at George Mason University, advising aspiring educators and supporting initiatives focused on the recruitment and retention of students of color in teacher preparation programs at both the University of Connecticut and Florida State University, and serving as a high school counselor in Maryland and North Carolina where she implemented college and career readiness programs for underrepresented students.

Hines later earned a school administrator license and served on school leadership teams, strengthening her expertise in educational leadership, student support systems, and program implementation.

Hines holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Florida State University, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from High Point University, an M.Ed. in School Counseling from University of Maryland, and a B.S. in Rehabilitation Services from Pennsylvania State University.
